"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:  because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world."
1 John 4:4

We are living in a crazy world today.  Just never know what is going to happen next.  Wars and rumors of war are all we seem to hear.  Diseases and sickness of all kinds is filling our newspapers and TV stations.  But friend, keep your chin up.  The One who created the valley, the one who allows evil to work in our world, the one who is in control always; is there with you!  If you are in a valley of stress, disappointment or confusion, He has prepared the way through that valley.  It is not a place of permanence, but a place of passage.  He knows every twist and turn, every changing shadow, every den where danger lurks--that One is with you!  Remember that!!

Focus on the light and not the darkness.  God has made you to walk through shadows.  When the shadow approaches, you must walk through.  The One greater than death is in you!  He is your Jehovah-Shammah--the Lord ever-present.  His grace is greater.  His peace is purer.  His devotion is dearer.  Where Satan casts a shadow, our Sovereign Lord reigns supreme.  Remember that!!

This is a day of hope.  Meditate on 1 John 4:4 throughout the day and ask God to give you a divine appointment to share this beloved truth with someone today.

"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength..."
Mark 12:30

How in the world do we love someone with everything in us?  Well, I have heard people say "I love her with all my soul" or "I love him with everything in me" or "I can't love anyone else as much as I do my family".  Friend, the world has a love that isn't Godly love.  A Godly love starts with God and through HIM we are able to have true love with our wife or husband or family.  God is Love!  The worldly love is there until one gets tired of someone, then off it goes.  God's love stays firm.  It's a love whereby one can say I Love You and mean it until death separates you from the one you love, even then, that one who passed is never forgotten, never not loved, God's love lasts!

What did Jesus say about the evil one "Satan", "He was a murdered from the beginning, and abode no in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own:  for he is a liar and the father of it" (John 8:44).  Satan is a clever liar.  In face, many of his lies sound like he truth.  He plays with our minds to confuse us.  He lies about the biggest subject of all--God.  Satan wants to deceive you about God.  If he can distort your idea of God, then beyond the shadow of any doubt, he has you in everything else.  Satan lies about truth, love, peace, and anything he can to get to your heart and mind.

To God be the Glory, Great things He has done!  It is perfectly natural for fear and doubt to creep into our minds at times.  "What if Heaven isn't real after all?"  Is Jesus the Christ, the only way to the Father?  Questions like these should not be given quick responses.  John The Baptist, whom Jesus call the greatest of the prophets (Luke 7:28), had questions before his execution.  "is he really the Christ or should we look for another?"  Jesus didn't criticize him for that comment, He just pointed to His miracles.  Do you believe Jesus is the Christ?  If not, maybe you should start looking for another.  But, let me point you to some of His miracles.  Try that new born baby that we hold in our arms, or the watermelon that seems to come out from a small seed, or the beautiful sunrises each morning, right on time, or the beautiful moon that keeps coming up in the east.  How about our hearts, that has been changed by experiencing the presence of the Lord in our life.  I hope you find your way to the Father, but the way the bible explains it, Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life, No one comes to the Father but by me, He says.  I believe that.  You should too!

"But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great."
Luke 6:35

I saw a bumper sticker that said "show random acts of kindness."  I think that's a good thing.  And what is kindness?  It's love in the little things.  A preacher told me one day that a woman came down the aisle of a church to give her heart to Christ, and the preacher wanted to know what had impacted her life for Christ.  She said, "You did."  The pastor said, "Well, I'd be interested to know what it was that I said that brought you to Christ." She said, "It was nothing you said.  It was something you did.  I was standing nearby when somebody criticized you very unfairly.  I saw the kindness with which you responded, and I knew that your faith was real."

Have you acted in a positive way when you were treated unkindly?  How people see you in the good times is one thing, but in bad times is another.  People always remember something bad before they ever remember something good.  "I'm a Christian preacher!"  Are we the people we say we are?  Do we really turn the other cheek?  What random act of kindness can you do today that will demonstrate that your faith is real?

"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you."
Psalm 55:22

What a good verse that we can all use from time to time.  In my ministry, I have met many people who carry too much weight on their shoulders.  Burdens can over run us, break us down and destroy us.  This verse should be use when you are coping with problems you can't seem to deal with.  Wise wisdom to listen too.

The devil has ways to stop our Christian work.  Every time I get a good idea I immediately have an antidote.  I heard a good Christian Sunday School teacher once say, "We are all faced with many great opportunities that are brilliantly disguised as impossible tasks."  Don't let Satan keep you from doing what you know is good even if it looks impossible to do.
