"How much more shall the blood of Christ, Who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"
Hebrews 9:14

The Lord Jesus lived an amazing life.  Do you realize that Jesus never corrected, withdrew, or amended any statement He ever made?  I wish I could say that!  Jesus Christ never apologized for anything He ever did or said.  He never sought advice from anyone, nor ever needed to ask for forgiveness.  Jesus Christ doesn't have any strong points.  For Him to have strong points, He would have to have weak points.  The expositor Robert Clark has rightly given this assessment of the character of Jesus:  He wrote "There was meekness without weakness, tenderness without feebleness, firmness without coarseness, love without sentimentality, holiness without sanctimoniousness, lowliness without lowness, truth without error, enthusiasm with fanaticism, passion without prejudice, heavenly mindedness without forgetfulness, carefreeness without carelessness, service without servility, self exaltation without egotism, judgment without harshness, seriousness without somberness, mercy without softness."

What a person was the Lord Jesus Christ!  Today, embrace the death, burial and resurrection of our Savior with this renewed sense of Who He was--His matchless character.  This is the One Who laid down His life for you.  Is He worthy of your praise today?

"For Christ also hath suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God..."
1 Peter 3:18

I can only imagine what it must have been like to be back in those days, to see our Savior and Lord taken to the court area and being condemned to the cross at Calvary.

What picture I could imagine took place; A Roman soldier walked down a narrow corridor in a Roman prison.  He held the torch up, and back in the shadows was a man.  The guard with his key opened the door of the cell and said, "Barabbas, get up and come with me."  Barabbas began to plead, "No, wait, don't take me!  Have mercy!"  The Roman soldier said, "You're not going to die; there's somebody else who's going to die in your place.  Come here.  Look over on that hill.  That's the cross we made for you.  But there's someone else on it.  He has taken your place."

In what happened to Barabbas, God arranged a perfect picture of substitution -- the just dying for the unjust that He might bring us to Himself.

Why not take time today to tell the Lord Jesus Christ how much you love Him and how grateful you are that He stepped out of glory and became obedient unto death -- even the death on the Cross -- for your sake and mine.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Hebrews 11:1

People join churches today with wrong expectations.  They think church membership guarantees blessings and no burdens.  Some think that God is just a heavenly cafeteria.  And if it doesn't work out as they wish, they say, "Well, it's not paying off!  I thought if I gave my heart to Jesus, then He would supply everything I want.  And I'd have no more worries."  People fall away because their expectations are not met.  Let me tell you what real faith is.  Real faith is not just receiving from God the things you want.  Real faith is accepting from God the things He gives.

How are your spiritual eyeglasses?  Are you looking at life with the eyes of the Lord?  And trusting that He will provide, not necessarily what you want, but what you need?

I have a copy of the "Koran" and have been reading it to try and understand its message.  With all the noise of "we all serve the same God theory."  We Christians believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, do we not?  So what does the Koran say about Jesus, "God's only begotten Son" (John 3:16).

The Koran in section "23:86" says "Never has God begotten a son, nor is there any other god besides Him.  Were this otherwise, each god would govern his own creation, each holding himself above the other.  Exalted be God above their falsehoods!"

Now I could go on but, this section of The Koran, clearly tells me that Jesus isn't the "Begotten Son of God."  Now if they are right, we are worshiping a "Jesus" that doesn't exist.  So, are we "Christians" worshiping the same God?  I say NO.

Just thinking - it's easy for me to write a devotion most days.  God's Word is full of example's for our lives.  But, know this, I am not just a Pastor who tells you how to, or what to, or should do, with it affecting me also.  Pastors, evangelist, bible teachers and good Christians who try to live a Godly life faces these examples each day with me.  This is a very stressful life we live in today.  Just twenty years ago, we lived in a different USA, now we all looked at like someone who is illegal to be free; to give our opinions; you name it we are living in a world where each of us are looked at like criminals.  God is our answer and I believe that!  Jesus is our saviour and I believe that!  HE is the Way, the Truth, and the Life!  and I believe that.  How can a person get by in our world today without HIM?  HE is COMING SOON! and I believe that!  Are you ready to meet HIM?
