"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
James 2:10

As a teen in school I didn't know that I had a problem they refer to now as "not being able to stay focused".  I really don't know the word, but I did have a problem in school.  Not listening to all the teacher had to say was a big problem.  If it wasn't for the teacher grading papers on a curve, I would probably still be in high school today.  Can you see that?  Six Six year old freshman of Tech High School.

Well anyway, so many people have the idea that God is going to let us into HIS Heaven by excepting our goodness, as if HE is going to grade on the curve.  We say to ourselves, "We're not good, but we ain't bad either, and for that matter we're not as bad as so-and-so, and they say they are going to heaven.

But God doesn't grade on a curve.  He grades on an absolute standard of holiness.  Can anybody say that they've kept all of God's Ten Commandments?  Of course not.  But let's suppose you had only broken one.  What would happen?  Well, let me illustrate.  If a man was dangling over a fire by a chain of ten links and nine of those links were made of forged steel and one was made of crepe paper, what would happen?  Use this illustration with someone today as a testimony of God's mercy in sending His Son for the salvation of all mankind.

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Psalm 23:6

I love reading the 23rd Psalm.  It gives me comfort and contentment to know that my God has everything in HIS control, even my Goodness and Mercy.  Now the bible says, "Goodness and mercy will pursue" me and you all the days of our life.  That's what the word "follow" literally means in Psalm 23:6---to "Pursue".  Jesus pursued you with His call of salvation, and He will continue to pursue you.  His goodness and mercy are like two sheep dogs that follow the flock to assure there is a safe journey to the Shepherd's final destination.  Now, may I ask, How many times have you questioned God's provision in your life and wondered if He really cared for you?  Well, there's no question here.  It says surely, not hopefully.  Yes, you and I will stumble, but He will pick us up.

How would you live differently today if you "really knew" that grace and mercy were going to follow your every step?  How would you treat others?
