We had such a blessing day today with our Men's Prayer Breakfast and then off to the church house to rearrange a few rooms and upgrade our sound system. God is so good and HE is working in our little church. Salvation came to two ladies last week and our baptismal waters will soon be stirred after years of calmness. I'm so glad that God is still working in our lives and HE is building HIS church. Tomorrow is Sunday, another day set aside to go to church and worship the creator of the universe. Please, as our country seems to be going through a moral meltdown, why not tomorrow, go to church and pray for our country, that we will see a revival come in these last days. I believe this church age of grace is slowly coming to an end.

"He humbled himself and was fully obedient to God, even when that caused his death, death on the cross:
Phillippians 2:8 When human hands fastened the divine hands of Jesus to the cross with the spikes, it wasn't the soldiers who held the hands of Jesus steady--it was God. What love He has for us. "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before."
Phillippians 3:13 I have a question for all of you. How many times do you sit and study on the past? What I've done wrong; what I've done right; why didn't I do something; and so on... Well have you heard about a man named Nehemiah, of the Old Testament? Well, Nehemiah was a man who knew how to get alone with God. He fasted, prayed, and wept; then God told him what to do. Have you done that? Have you sacrificed and surrendered to the Lord to discover His will for your life? Or are you just putting yourself into neutral and letting life happen to you? Do you have a focus? God has something that He wants you to do. You are special to God. Nehemiah said, "God has laid something on my heart." If you'll listen, God will lay something on your heart. Don't wait another minute! Get alone with God. Discover what He wants from your life, to do His will. Just do it! You won't regret it. Did you know that you can backslide with a Bible under your arm? I had more difficulty maintaining my spiritual life when I was in bible college than any other time in my life. I'm not putting down the school. It wasn't their fault. It was my fault. I started reading the Bible like a math book instead of a love story. The test of your Bible knowledge is not how many facts you know or how fast you can read through the bible or understand the Greek and Hebrew word meanings. The test is: Are you becoming more like Jesus because you spent time in his Word?
"Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
Hebrews 12:2 Have you ever thought about what it means to "look to Jesus", to have all of our needs met? Well, let's say I borrow ten thousand dollars from Dan, a friend of mine, but then I discover that I can't pay it back. Dan is onto me and says, "If you don't pay it back, I'm going to foreclose on you." So I go to another friend, Tom, and tell him about my dire situation and ask for his help. Tom says, "That's alright Carl, look to me." Notice that Tom didn't say, "Look at me." He said "Look to me." In other words, "I'll handle it." That's what the Bible means when it says "look unto Jesus." It means look to Him for whatever you need. Who is looking to you to have their needs met today? Are you then looking to God or are you trying to do it on your own? "I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."
Psalm 34:4 The times that will most strengthen and enrich your life are those when you go barehanded, armed with only the Spirit of God, against the red lion of hell--and prevail. Remember Samson, who killed a lion with his bare hands, then ate honey out of its carcass (See Judges 14:6-9). Whatever is hounding and threatening your life right now, you must hold fast to the Word of God that promises deliverance and hope, power and strength, wisdom and guidance. Look beyond the physical evidence to the spiritual promise of God. Problems are opportunities for God's power to be manifest in your life. Have you ever thought about you "Mind"? Most of my younger years were filled with my mother saying "I'm just about to lose my mind". Have you ever been there? So, what's in your mind today, or should I say what's on your mind today? My advise to you is "Don't let your mind become so busy with stuff that your heart can't respond to what really matters."
"Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."
Psalm 55:22 It was terrible at Simon Peter's funeral. Jesus was there and He said, "It's a shame that Peter had to die so young. He was just getting the hang of walking on the water. I shouldn't have told him to get out of the boat." It was one of the saddest funerals. Now, I hope you're saying "wait a minute!" right now, because we know that Peter didn't drown when Jesus called him out of the boat (Matthew 14:22-23). And you will not drown, either, when Jesus calls you to do something humanly impossible. Peter may not have walked very far on water, but we could venture to say he walked farther than anyone else has ever walked on water! Don't worry about getting out of the boat if that is what God calls you to do. It is safer on the waves with Jesus than in the boat without Him. Is Jesus calling you to do something that you are holding back on? If a Christian is attached to something, such as teachings, mans tradition, an institution (church house), a movement, or some person, the end will certainly be a limitation of life and eventually confusion and disappointment. If you are not attached to the Lord Jesus Christ, life will be a great let down to you. Christ is our Life and Hope and Joy, and Peace. In Him is all you need. He is everything.
Who are you? Someone said that to me one day and I said I'm a Coffey and a Christian. So what does it mean to be a Christian, they said? We learn that Christian identity is not something we put on and take off like clothing. Identifying one as a Christian is saying they are Christ like. We bear Christ's name so we should resemble Christ in our living. Do you take your name seriously?
